It’s finally time for the announcement of the winner of our Nominate-a-Friend competition. My arms ache from continuous drum-rolls! As you probably know, the winner was the person who nominated the most people; the ruthless travel nut who wanted to get rid of the most people. But it was more than worth it: the prize is a trip to Egypt on our iconic King Tutankhamen tour.
However, we have a slight problem: we can’t get hold of our winner! Sukhdeep Atwal, wake up!!
Sukhdeep may have nominated the most people in our competition by giving us their e-mail addresses, but she clearly doesn’t check her inbox very regularly. What’s going to happen once she gets to the airport? I can see it now: “Ladies and gentlemen, Egyptair flight E517 is now ready to depart. Sukhdeep Atwal, you’re holding up the plane... Please make your way to gate 9 immediately.” And that’s not all: once on the tour, our highly trained guides are going to be tested to the limit trying to keep track of Sukhdeep as she dozes among the tombs. “If you could all make your way to this side of the tomb, here you can see the remnants of... Miss Atwal, wake up!”
It will certainly make for some prize Kodak moments. But I suspect that waking up amongst ancient tombs is sure to prevent any future narcoleptic episodes. The pharaoh’s curse never had such an easy target!
