Every time we look over at the votes we are absolutely astounded. People really are working hard out there to get this trip. Good work everyone!
So, let’s whet your voracious travel appetites with another Prize Preview.
The Turkish leg of your round-the-world prize begins in the ancient city of Istanbul, which is filled with fascinating mosques, churches, palaces and museums to explore. Moving on to battle-scarred Gallipoli and the region of Kusadasi, you’ll see the famous Trojan horse and ruins and experience a guided tour of a city that dates back to 3000BC. And, after seeing even more Roman temples, towers and brothels (!) you’ll travel to Cappadocia, where you’ll take a guided tour of the World Heritage listed site of Goreme Valley. The surreal landscapes have to be seen to be believed: whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses hewn from the soft, eroded volcanic rock make great sightseeing. You’ll then travel to the Turkish capital of Ankara, where you’ll visit the Mausoleum of Mustafa Ataturk – the father of modern Turkey, before finally heading back to Istanbul.
Amazing. I suddenly have a kebab craving. Check out further details here.
As always, here’s a video to really get you in the mood.
