Welcome to a brand new month. We’re now into the final month of Get Rid of Me – just a few weeks to go before we close the entries and stop the votes!
Being Wednesday, we’re going to do our regular Prize Preview. Rub your greedy little hands together as we take a look at the mysterious and ancient land of Jordan.
Starting in Amman, you’ll head north to Jerash and Umm Qaish. Jerash was built over 2000 years ago and is widely regarded as the best-preserved of the 10-city Roman confederation known as the Decapolis. You’ll also bob around in the Dead Sea, explore the beautiful and legendary Rose City of Petra, and see the vast, silent riverbeds and rock formations of Wadi Rum. Then you’ll head to the ancient Umm ar-Rasas, a desert city on the ancient caravan routes. Then it’s off to Mt. Nebo, the single most important biblical site in the whole of Jordan: it was here that Moses finally saw the Promised Land. Finally, it’s off to Madaba to see centuries-old Byzantine mosaics before heading back to Amman.
