Happy Thursday! We are nearly done with another week. (Mind you, certain people were so hungover this morning, they thought it WAS Friday. No such luck.)
Yesterday's Egypt preview was a hit. It was especially nice for us to read all the kind words posted over on Facebook about our super-cool guide Sherif. He is a great man – but when people remember and pay tribute to him – it makes it all worth while!
Today we’ve got something else to whet your appetite, although it’s not from our own archives. Google have teamed up with Russian Railways to create a real-time online version of the Trans Siberian Express. You can view the first seven minutes of the epic six day trip here, and the whole project is beautifully explained on the Guardian’s website.
Personally, we were happy to get excited as the train pulled out of the station, then go back to browsing photos and reading thoughtful blogs like this one by Paul Willis. But for serious couch potatoes, you can now take the entire journey, meet guides and plot your progress, without leaving the sofa.
OR you could win two tickets as part of Get Rid Of Me.
Until tomorrow, keep dreaming.
