Yes boys and girls, it’s now time to announce the winner of the Travel Photo Fail; the recipient of those priceless 500 votes...
Now instead of simply scrolling down and rolling your eyes at whoever won, here’s some good news: we’re giving away 2nd and 3rd prizes as well. After the fantastic response we had to the competition, and the number of chuckles you crazy travellers have supplied us with, we couldn’t give just one person the votes. So, in addition to giving the winner 500 votes, we’re giving 250 votes to the person who comes in second, and 100 votes to the person who comes third. Don’t say Team GROM never did anything for you lot!
So without further ado, congratulations to our third place winner Oxana Akulova!
Here’s a link to her excellent photo, featuring a pony-tailed man with John Lennon glasses wearing nothing but a tyre tube. Oxana wins herself 100 extra votes for that little bit of comic gold. (Or bronze, as the case may be...)
In second place, well done to Francesca White!
Francesca supplied us with a photo that was almost elegant in its simplicity. Funny signs never fail to amuse. Here’s a link to her photo. Francesca wins 250 votes.
And in first place, with the picture that had us all wondering what would happen next, congratulations to Jazzmine Evans!
You have won 500 votes for your picture.
Thank you to every single person who participated. It’s been a lot of fun! We hope the little video we made you is as entertaining.
Now on a more serious note, the biggest and best travel competition around is shutting its doors to new entries and votes in just under a week’s time. That’s right, on September 30th 2010 at 12am Pacific Standard Time (8am GMT) we will literally shut the doors on everyone. It’s a bit like Lord of the Rings when that big black gate swings shut. All the little soldiers (votes) march in, and then it shuts. Kapow.
So get those votes in everyone! One week to go! Congratulations again to all our winners.
Team GROM
P.S. Votes won will be awarded to the contestants named above, and will reflect on their profiles by the 24th September 2010.
